Crime video AI

Why this
niche?
I found a channel that started only 3 weeks ago and it already made over $10K+ with videos that are partly AI-made. Last year I shared a niche called “crime AI,” and a bunch of people blew up with it. Now that AI has leveled up from a year ago , I feel like this is another wave you could hop on.

Genius use of CCTV AI and script
'Pay attention to these two people in this CCTV footage.'
Starting with those AI CCTV clips is a brilliant choice and they look incredibly real. The grain, the lighting, and the camera angle make it feel like actual real security footage. Most viewers or probably you don’t even realize it’s AI generated, which makes it even more engaging. Then the line “Pay attention to these two people in this CCTV footage” fits perfectly and creates even more FOMO. It adds tension right away and makes you want to keep watching to see what’s going to happen next. Great start!

Nice editing, background music and effects
Everything works really well together here. The editing is clean, the background music builds tension, and the small sound effects make it feel more real. Definetly the editing style I'd recommend using if you want to start in this niche.

Great hook
'Little did she know these were the final moments of her life.'
This line is perfect. It immediately creates FOMO and raises questions which makes the viewer want to know what happens next.
00:32
Strong story build-up
What works really well here is that they show a high moment first, using the “almost real” CCTV footage and several strong hooks before actually starting the story. As a viewer, you already feel invested and want to keep watching. It’s a smart tactic because you’ve been given multiple reasons to stay, and the pacing feels balanced. I’m personally a big fan of this approach.
Don'ts
1:10
Could be improved
From around 00:32 the video mostly shows one long street-walking clip, and that’s where the editing really drops in quality. There’s almost no movement or variation here, just one static shot that goes on for too long. Even though viewers don’t complain about it in the comments, I'd still improve this part. A few simple cuts, different images could’ve made a huge difference.

Experts can tell from this point
This image still looks realistic, but if you know what to look for, you can start to notice that this whole video is AI-generated from this point. The textures, lighting, and small details are just a bit too clean. For the average viewer it can still feel completely real, but someone experienced with AI visuals might recognize the signs. That’s the tricky part with AI storytelling, keeping it realistic enough that even trained eyes don’t question it.
3:05
Editing completely loses momentum
From 3:05 all the way to 19:00 we’re looking at the exact same image. Earlier I mentioned the lack of variation in editing, but this takes it to another level. It’s a huge missed opportunity because the scene itself has potential but the music and voice-over just keep playing, yet visually nothing changes. Definetely a missed chance.

Great thumbnail style!
This is a really strong thumbnail. It has a clean layout with a maximum of three clear focus points. The man holding the gun, the woman facing him, and the bold text “it doesn’t end well…”. That’s all you need. The REC icon and light CCTV filter make it feel like real footage, which adds realism and tension. The text placement is also great because its's centered but not blocking the action, and the red highlight on “end well” draws the eye exactly where it should go.So overall this is definetly the style I'd recommend to continue on because we can clearly see that this works. You understand the danger and conflict in one glance, which is why it works so well.

How to find topics?
As far as I can tell, all the stories are fake and completely made up using AI, so you can easily check the competition and see which topics are doing well. So look at the competitions most viewed videos and pay attention to which topics keep coming back. Usually, they’re based on emotional or intense things like disappearances, accidents, confrontations like pointing a gun at someone.
Once you’ve spotted the patterns, look at how those topics are presented. The goal is to understand why viewers stay watching, thats why I'd advise you to also take a good look at the video analysis I made for you.
Besides that, also take a look at the thumbnails because that's what communicates everything in one second. You’ll often see three clear focus points: a CCTV footage combined with a triggering text. Just take a look at their most popular videos:

Do you see the pattern? Each of these thumbnails/topics follows the same winning structure. The text is short and dramatic (it doesn’t end well…/her final moments…), the topic is emotionally charged, and the visuals tell the story within one second. There’s always a clear setting, like a street, parking lot, or gas station, and usually only two or three people in frame to keep the focus strong. These thumbnails and topics are very triggering because they instantly trigger emotion and curiosity. You don’t need to read the title to know something bad or mysterious is about to happen. That’s what makes people click.
How to create the CCTV footage?
You can easily make this type of realistic CCTV-style footage using Sora 2. It’s one of the best tools right now for generating AI clips that look exactly like real footage. The great thing about Sora is that you have full creative control, you can build any scene you want.
Currently Sora 2 is not available for everyone yet but if you do find a way to get access, here is a tutorial on how it works:

If you can't get access or simply don't want to create the footage yourself, look for a freelancers who can create these clips on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork.
Topic
Since we can go for any topic we want, I decided to make a variation of the best-performing video from the competitor’s channel.

How to create your thumbnail?
The most important thing is that your thumbnail matches the first clip in your video. When someone clicks, they should see the exact same scene or moment they saw on the thumbnail. This creates instant trust because the viewer feels like they’re getting exactly what they clicked for. If your thumbnail shows something completely different, people lose interest fast and click away. So if your thumbnail shows, for example, a man pointing a gun in a hospital hallway, your video should open with that same shot.

In this case, I didn’t have the CCTV footage made, so I’m just using this thumbnail as an example. I’d want to create something similar later, because this style comes from one of the most popular videos in the niche. It’s the perfect example of what performs well, it's realistic, and emotionally intense. So even though this is just a placeholder for now, it represents the exact kind of thumbnail and footage I’d want to recreate when I'd make the real video.

AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Triggering CCTV Footage
This audience loves CCTV footage because the footage feels real and raw and that “REC” look makes it feel like they’re watching something forbidden or rare, but the thumbnail you just saw is completely made with AI. The only thing is, this audience doesn't notice it. They just want to see how things went wrong and what happened next, like they’re witnessing a real life mystery unfold.
Sharing their own stories related to the video
You’ll notice that under almost every video there’s someone sharing their own story about something they went through that’s similar to what happens in the video. So make sure you keep that in mind when choosing your topics and scripts.
