Do's
00:00
Straight to the point
No long intro, just jump straight into the story. That’s a triq of the 'explained in minutes' format, and this channel clearly gets that.
00:00
Fast timing
It’s not just the voice-over, the editing also starts at a fast pace right away. That clearly works in this niche, and I’d definitely recommend doing the same if you want to get into it. This is a younger audience with a short attention span, and they like to be triggered fast. By keeping that quick tempo in both script and editing, you’re showing that you get them and know how to keep them watching.
5:15
Save script, but...
What I really notice is that the script is told in a very general way. It doesn’t give a personal opinion, it just explains what the crazy movie theory is and what fans are saying about it. I think that’s actually a good thing in a way, because the comments are where people share their own opinions. But to be honest, the video itself starts to feel a bit dry. One way to fix that is by adding some humor here and there, without diving too deep into your own take on the theory because if your opinion clashes with your audience, that could backfire. What I mean is: there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of entertainment. Especially with an “explained in minutes” format, I feel like it’s missing jokes, light pauses or quick little triggers to keep the viewer’s brain engaged.
Don'ts
00:11 and 2:11
Bad background music
I really don’t think the background music fits the video at all. It gives off the wrong vibe as a viewer way too calm, almost like spa music. I’d definitely recommend either removing it completely or focusing more on using sound effects instead.
2:10
No triggering hooks
We're now at 2:10, and I still haven’t heard a single hook that really grabs me or gives me a reason to keep watching. That’s a missed opportunity, especially since it’s so easy to add something like that into the script. For example:

This is fine, but...
This thumbnail style is fine to use because we can see that it works, but I do think it could be improved a lot. I see too many focus points, and the text doesn’t really stand out. I do like that they use a white background, because it fits the overall thumbnail style. What I would change is to limit the focus points to just three characters, and place the text above them so it’s much clearer. I’ll explain exactly how I do this in the section 'how to create your thumbnail.

How to find topics?
Important: To find topics in this niche, it's important to first understand this niche well and understand the difference between dream theories and lore. These two terms come up a lot in videos of our competition channel and the comments and knowing the difference helps you explain topics more clearly and understand the niche.
Dream theories are fan-made ideas that are usually not confirmed by the creators. They often suggest that everything we saw in a movie or show wasn’t real, like the character was in a coma, or it was all just a dream, or maybe everyone was actually dead the whole time. There’s usually no real proof behind them, but fans try to connect details to make it seem believable.
Lore, on the other hand, is what’s actually part of the official story. It comes from the creators through the movie or books itself. Even if something sounds unbelievable, like Spider-Man getting his powers from a radioactive spider, if it’s clearly explained by the story or the creators, then it’s considered lore. Another example is Jack dying in Titanic. It's not a theory, that’s just what happens in the story.
So in short: dream theories are made by fans and are not officially confirmed, although people can swear that they have proof from it while lore is official and part of the story's world.
Keep this in mind:
Now that you’ve got this info, here’s my advice for this niche: mix dream theories with lore theories because as we've know, that combo really gets people talking in the comments. I looked at a lot of comments, and this audience loves to go back and forth about the theories. They react hard, give their own takes, and even argue a bit which is great for engagement. So even if they’re clearly not big fans of dream theories, that’s actually why you should include them sometimes. Also, a quick tip: talk about movies that are based on books. Books often have extra details or slightly different storylines, and that can really trigger reactions from your viewers.
ChatGPT: One of the easiest ways to come up with topics for this niche is just by asking ChatGPT the right questions. Like:
• Give me 10 movie or TV theories that fans are still debating
• List popular movies with strange or dark fan theories.
• List crazy dream theories people have made about [MOVIE NAME
Reddit: Also on Reddit you can find lots of topic inspiration
• https://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/1hpannw/what_are_some_crazy_movie_theories_that_you_think/
Comments:

YouTube: On YouTube I found another channel that is using the same pattern with other movies.
Topic:
To create my own topic in this niche, I went to ChatGPT and asked for a list of underrated movie theories that haven’t been covered much on YouTube. I made sure to ask for a mix of dream theories and real lore so I could create something that create discussion. See downn below an example of I mean.

How to create your thumbnail?
Because I wanted to stick to a maximum of three focus points, I decided to go with just three images. I placed them next to each other, and this is how it turned out:

Photoshop
Then I went into Photoshop and adjusted the exposure, added whitening, and enhanced the texture.

With ChatGPT, I discussed the different movie theories that exist around these characters and which words would best match each one. This is what came out of that. So, if you’ve followed all the steps, this is the final result.

AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Crazy movie theories, plot twist and banned movies
This audience loves watching videos about movie theories, plot twists, and basically anything that uncovers hidden layers in films. They enjoy seeing popular movies from a new angle, spotting things they missed before, or hearing theories that completely change how you see the story. The crazier or more unexpected it is, the more they’re into it.
Explained in minutes format
This audience also really enjoys the “explained in minutes” format on YouTube. It’s fast-paced, straight to the point, and doesn’t waste time with long intros and is exactly what works for their short attention span.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Dream theory
This audience usually doesn't like dream theories because they often feel like a lazy explanation. It’s like the creator ran out of ideas and just says, “It was all a dream.” That can make the whole story feel pointless or fake.
Too bright background
Small detail, but if this helps make your videos easier and more comfortable for your audience to watch by avoiding a too-bright white background, then it’s a small change that’s definitely worth it.
