Real photo's
People in this niche appreciate authenticity. I’ve seen comments where viewers say they don’t like it when signs are obviously Photoshopped. They value real signs with real photos because that’s what makes them funny. So, always try to find actual signs first, as that’s what the audience enjoys the most. If you do choose to Photoshop something, make sure it looks as realistic as possible.

No voice-over
If you want your content to be monetized, you need to add a voice-over. This niche has a lot of potential, but to really make your videos stand out, you need to add more value by telling a real story. This way, you can fully engage the viewer and keep them watching by using smooth transitions between topics. Avoid making a simple Top 50 video like the competition is doing, as that format is too repetitive and won’t hold attention for long. Instead, I’d recommend hiring a real voice-over to introduce each sign, provide some funny background information on where it’s located and add storytelling elements. After revealing one board, you could say: 'But if you thought this sign was hilarious/shocking/weird/crazy, just wait until you see the next one....' This creates curiosity and gives the viewer a reason to keep watching. There’s a lot more potential in this niche. If these basic videos are already getting high views, imagine what’s possible if you take it to the next level.

Annoying background music
As we've seen from the comments, many people didn’t enjoy this type of 'funny' background music, and I can definitely see why. So, avoid using this style and instead go for something more subtle or fitting to keep the focus on the content without being distracting.

❌ Could be much better
This thumbnail needs a lot of improvement. You can't read the signs clearly, and there are too many focus points, which makes the design look chaotic and cheap. However, if this thumbnail is already getting more than half a million views, just imagine how many views you could get if you made it better. My advice for this niche is to keep things as clear and organized as possible, while making it obvious that the video is about signs. Personally, I would choose to focus on just one sign to minimize distractions and prevent the thumbnail from looking too chaotic. Zoom in on the sign, so viewers can read what’s on it, and use a thicker, shadowed font for the text to make it stand out more.

How to find your topics?
Important: If you want to build a monetized channel, adding a voice-over is a must in this niche. This means you’ll need to take a different approach if you plan to make money from your videos. That way, your videos will have much more value, as I explained during the video analysis. Besides, in this niche, it’s important to find as many real photos of weird signs as possible. After doing some research, I found that the internet is full of them, so there’s plenty of content available to use.
Photoshop/AI: This audience values the authenticity of the signs, so if you choose to edit or create them, it’s a must that they look real. If they notice it’s fake, they’ll likely lose interest and may not return to watch future videos. To find inspiration for this, it’s important to check the comments on competitor channels. You’ll notice that many people share funny memories about signs they’ve seen in the past. This is a great way to gather ideas and ensure that your content resonates with the audience, since you’re basing it on things they already find funny.

Google: on Google, you can find lots of funny/weird/shocking signs:

Topic:
To create my own topic in this niche, I started by searching Google for funny signs. First, I looked through images and quickly found a lot. Then, I kept digging and came across this website, which I’ve linked below. What’s great about this site is that they’ve added short, humorous captions to the signs. This can give you or your scriptwriter some inspiration for adding jokes and making the script more engaging. As we know, this audience loves humor, so that’s definitely something you should include in your script. However, the most important thing is using the transitions I explained during the video analysis. Instead of making it feel like a basic 'Top 10' video, turn it into one story. This way, you won’t need as many signs in your script, but you’ll be able to add more value to each one. Win-win situation.

How to create your thumbnail?
First, I searched on Google on 'Funny Signs and found this one:

Extend background and camera raw filter
Because of the size of the photo, I needed to extend the background in photoshop. Then, I used the camera raw filter to brighten the yellow a bit more and zoomed in so that the audience can read the sign better. At the end I also added some dark shadow on top so that the text will stand out even more.

Eventually I choose to go for the text: Hilarious Signs because we can see that this works very well with our competition. Also, I choose to add a red color to the word SIGNS because that way it matches with the arrow and the message I want to convey becomes even more visible. So if you followed all the steps, your thumbnail will look something like this:

Funny Signs
This audience loves watching funny signs. The comments are full of timestamps and reactions, with viewers pointing out their favorite ones and sharing their thoughts.
Humor
As you can see, most viewers watch these videos because they need a laugh. That means the funnier and more ridiculous the signs, the better the engagement will be. It’s also clear that people love reacting to the signs in the comments, whether it’s pointing out their favorites, making jokes, or even sharing similar signs they’ve seen in real life.
AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience not like?
Annoying background music
In a moment, during the analysis, you'll see that the competition channel uses a certain type of background music that isn’t well received by this audience. It’s too upbeat, and many viewers find it annoying rather than entertaining
Clearly photoshopped signs
If you use Photoshop, make sure it doesn’t look fake, because this audience will definitely notice. They appreciate authenticity, so any obvious edits could ruin the effect and make the video less engaging.
