Canadian Right Wing Politics
Why this
niche?
In this niche, I found a channel that started only 2 months ago and already achieved more than 1.2M monthly views. Besides, they use a certain pattern that seems to work really well and triggers a large audience. Once you figure out how to approach this niche, there’s a high chance you’ll get a lot of views, especially since the competition is pretty low. It’s also important to know that this niche has a strong right-wing political audience. So, if you’re interested in making videos for this crowd, this could be a good fit for you. Note: The competition definitely uses some clickbait in this niche. If that’s not your style, I’d advise you to avoid this one because if you don't want to do that, other channels will.

This is great
This intro is great, because just imagine this: You’re scrolling through YouTube, and you come across the title: 'Racist Karen Gets INSTANT KARMA after Messing with Pierre Poilievre.' Instantly, you're triggered and click on the video. Then, the first thing you see is this racist Karen going off on Pierre Poilievre, and that's exactly what you clicked for. So as a viewer, you’re immediately getting the content you expected, and that is a must because the first seconds of your video are the most important. That’s how you hook your audience. Great intro!

Emphasize what the viewer has just seen
''Explosive's moment In the House of Commons, a furious Karen tried to humiliate Pierre Poillievre in front of everyone, but she never expected to be completely destroyed by the conservative leader...''
What they’re doing here is very good. First, they give the viewer the footage they clicked for, and then they use the voice-over to emphasize what the viewer has just seen. They’re actually reacting to the earlier footage before explaining what’s coming next.
00:16
Nice video editing
It's a smart move to portray the 'Karen' in this video in an even worse light by pausing the footage on her face for a few seconds. They also use some nice sound effects, which altogether makes the video even more enjoyable to watch.

Give them a reason to continue watching
'She found herself defeated in an epic exchange, that left everyone in shock...'
A good hook like this ensures that you give the viewer a reason to continue watching the video. The viewer will be curious to find out just how shocking it’s going to be, especially after giving them a taste of what went down.
00:30
Thrilling background music
I think it's a good choice to use this kind of background music for in this niche, because it makes sure you as a viewer get well into the story. To be honest, I didn't even know very well who Pierre Poillievre was before I saw this video, but I really wanted to continue to watch this video because I was triggered by all these factors. So definitely a good choice.
00:40
Great hook, but...
'What you'll hear next, is really surprising...'
This is a great hook that I would definitely use for my own videos. You emphasize something surprising will follow, so again give the viewer a reason to continue watching the video. But what happens after, is something I'd never do in my own video. I will explain this at the don'ts. (00:46)
Don'ts
00:46
Very bad timing
There’s no worse time to ask someone to subscribe to your channel than right after saying, 'What you'll hear next is really surprising...' Just when viewers are hooked to hear the surprise, they throw in a subscription request. It actually breaks the flow and can leave the audience feeling annoyed instead of engaged. Besides, did you ever subscribe to a channel because they asked you to? Most people subscribe to a channel because they enjoy the content, not because someone asks them to. All this does is create frustration for the viewer, exactly if you choose a moment like this and that's the last thing you want. So just stick to your promise and deliver the viewer what you teased.

Mistakes
I see some weird editing mistakes here and that's unfortunate because the video starts so well. You want the viewer to stay well into the story, and mistakes like this can frustrate your audience. So always double-check your video before you post it, because these are simply just little mistakes that could have been easily fixed.

✅ Great strategy
I really like this thumbnail because it shows some clear focus points, an obvious contrast in color and they also use the right facial expression. This could definitely be a thumbnail I would make myself. So with that being said, this is an excellent thumbnail strategy that you can definitely take an example from. The only thing I would leave out is the arrow because it doesn't necessarily add more value. The fact that the woman on the left is already showing an angry emotion and Pierre Poillievre is 'smiling' on the right side says it all. So I would recommend keeping the focus on choosing for the right facial expressions rather than adding another focus point.

✅ Same pattern, but...
The second most popular video on our competition channel features this thumbnail, and as you can see, it has the exact same structure as thumbnail 1. But what I've noticed is that this thumbnail and many others on this competition channel are actually not quite right. Why? Because if you were to read this title: “Pierre Poilievre JUST HUMILIATED Justin Trudeau and Jagmeet is FURIOUS - then it doesn't make sense because if you take a look at this thumbnail than Justin Trudeau is, in fact, freaking out against Pierre Poilievre. So it contradicts the title.
So what I would do in this case is make sure that Pierre is actually the one that makes a statement towards Trudeau rather than the other way around.

Important: If you want to start in this niche, it's important to know that if you want success in this niche, you have to use some clickbait. The downside of using clickbait is that the risk of getting in trouble with YouTube, will get higher. I also know that a lot of you are afraid of using political niches because of many channels were deleted in the Trump niche.
There is nothing wrong with making videos about politics but going too far with clickbait and making videos in a political niche, will be a higher chance of getting in trouble then in any other niche. So the only thing you have to do is find the right balance between using some clickbait to make your video interesting enough to click on and safe enough for not getting a "misinformation" strike from YouTube.
How to find topics?
In this niche, it is quite obvious that a certain name often recurs: Pierre Poilievre. In fact, that's the first thing to do if you ask me, to see if there are patterns in a particular niche. Which videos are doing well? Does a certain name return in every topic? Do you see the same person on the thumbnail all the time? If the answer to that is yes, then you know what to do. And if you take a look at the competition channel The Canadian Zone it is clear that this target audience is triggered by the name of Pierre Poilievre. So it’s good to know that this target group consists of a right-wing audience, and they often get frustrated with what they call 'left-wing woke liberals.'
Another name that pops up and gets a lot of views in this niche is Justin Trudeau. Trudeau is the leader of the Liberal Party, so he’s on the left, making him the opposite of Pierre Poilievre. This whole dynamic is kind of like the Trump vs Biden situation, and that's exactly the reason why these topics work so well. So if you'd ask me which topics are the best to focus on in this niche, then Pierre Poilievre and Justin Trudeau will be my answer. Just take a look at this video that’s already got 217K views and was uploaded just 4 days ago:
Google: With Google, you can search for news articles very quickly. I typed in the name of Pierre Poilievre, filtered on 'News' and found the articles linked below.
ChatGPT: With ChatGPT, you can also find some topic inspiration for this niche. If you know how to work with ChatGPT then you can simply ask for some links on the web, for example 'a heated moment between Pierre Poilievre and Justin Trudeau.' But, I'd always recommend to also do your own research on Google so you make sure you don't miss an important news article.
YouTube: On YouTube, I found another channel that started only 2 months ago where they discuss a lot of topics from this niche. So you can get a lot of topic inspiration here as well.

Topic:
To create my own topic in this niche, I took a good look at what the competition is doing. I couldn't ignore this one topic that really blew up, hitting 217K views in just four days. I also noticed that these two names often get a ton of views, so I think it’s smart to ride that wave. But of course, we don’t want to copy the competition too much, so we’ll need to add some different articles and come up with our own title and thumbnail style for this niche. I’ll link the article below.

How to create your thumbnail?
First, I searched for an image of Pierre Poilievre, where he looked angry. I found this picture you see below via Google.
Add another image
Then, I added another image of Justin Trudeau. I wanted him to look like he's being attacked. So that it is clear that Pierre (on the left) is the one making the statement, who is angry and pointing his finger and Trudeau.
Photoshop
To make sure that they stand out enough, I choose to add the Camera Raw Filter. I I selected both people, pressed Command C + Command V to create a new layer on which I could add the Camera Raw Filter. That way you don't take the background with you so they will stand out even more.
Change background
Since our Canadian audience is very likely to recognize the debate room well, it is smart to use the same backgrounds that the competition uses so that it looks like they are actually in debate. I took a screenshot of Pierre and Justin's backgrounds during a debate, and then via Blur - Gaussian Blur made the backgrounds a little less sharp so that both men still remain good focus points.
News channel look
To make it instantly look like you're a news channel delivering "Breaking News," this thumbnail style can really work in your favor. It's the same strategy used in the Trump niche, where it’s working very well.
Finally, I choose to go for the text: YOU ARE GOING DOWN! Because I think it fits well with the hand movement Pierre is making, it could raise questions among the target audience, and it fits well with the title: Pierre Poilievre JUST DESTROYED Justin Trudeau, Then this Happens!
So in the end, if you followed all the steps, then your thumbnail will look like this:

Clickbait
Something that this audience don't like, and what might actually can return in any niche, is the fact that they don't like clickbait. So to minimize this, it's always a must to start your videos with what your title or thumbnail indicate, otherwise you can get comments like this under your video.
To many audio cuts
This is something our competition channels uses a lot, and the audience doesn't like it. Comments like this are very interesting to see because that means there is room for some improvement.
