Kid Scammer

Why this
niche?
In this niche, I found a channel that posted only 3 videos and already achieved more than 5.5M+ views. Now, you might assume that kind of success comes from super high-end editing or expensive production, but that’s not the case. In fact, the real reason this works so well is something much simpler than you'd think. And that’s exactly what I’m going to break down for you in this analysis. So If the idea of a 14-year-old stealing millions blows your mind, you're in the right niche.

Starting with real footage
What I really like here is that they start with real footage. This immediately tells the viewer that the story is true. And by showing the exact moment the viewer clicked for (as hinted in the title, "The boy who stole $230,000,000"), they instantly deliver the value the viewer was looking for.
00:06
This is great
The fact that they continued by showing real footage afterward is actually a good thing. Because of the quality, you can clearly tell these are genuine stories posted on social media, which makes the story feel more authentic and helps the viewer connect with it more easily. But be careful not to let this part run too long—otherwise, it might start to feel like some random slideshow, which would be a missed opportunity especially with so much valuable content still to come. So make sure to include short, real clips at the beginning of your video, and then jump straight into the story.
00:52
Raising questions
What they do here works really well, because it raises lots of questions by basically suggesting that stealing such a huge amount of money is much easier than you’d think. That’s a great reason for viewers to keep watching.
1:05
Nice sound effect
This won’t necessarily make your video go viral, but it’s still nice to see. Like I often say, you really don’t need high-end effects or the fanciest video editor, the most important thing is that your story is strong. That said, background music and sound effects can really shape the overall feeling of the story, so I liked seeing that the editor included those. Not a must, but definitely a nice touch.
3:21
Adding more real footage
They keep inserting these kinds of real clips throughout the video, and I’ve even seen comments from viewers specifically saying how much they appreciate the amount of real footage. That’s definitely something worth focusing on when choosing your own topics: use as much real footage as possible.
8:48
Nice hook
'But soon enough, the walls started closing in....'
This is exactly what I mean when I talk about creating a strong video. What I really want you to know is that your script, your hooks, and the way you build your story are some of the most important factors when it comes to going viral. Below are a few more example hooks you can use in this niche:

Bad voice-over
This is honestly something that could be improved pretty easily: the voice-over. Because of the accent, it’s sometimes hard to understand, and it really wouldn’t take much to fix. Go for a younger American voice actor with strong storytelling skills, someone who can really hold the viewer’s attention throughout.

This thumbnail achieved more than 3.9M views
I really like the format they’re using here; showing the child’s face combined with a luxury/visibly expensive items background. The only thing I would add is some kind of triggering text to make it even better. This is also a format you can use for any thumbnail, even if you can’t find the perfect photo, you can always use random luxury objects and place them in the background. I’ll talk more about this in the section on how to create your thumbnail.

✅ Real footage
What we see in both thumbnails on this channel is that they also use a lot of real footage as their thumbnails. Just like here: the quality might not be the best, but that actually highlights the authenticity of the story. I also want to point out that you can either use the strategy from thumbnail 1: choosing luxury items as the background or you can use this approach and make sure a large amount of money is clearly visible. And when you place a 15-year-old kid next to that, it's exactly what triggers this target audience. In short: Don’t focus that much on the quality of the thumbnail, but rather on how you can best convey the message using real photos.

Revenue analysis
I can totally understand that seeing this calculation might not make you very happy. But that’s because the channel has only uploaded 2 videos over a 6-month period. So what I would advise is not to focus on the monthly views, but rather on the potential this niche has. Because let’s be honest: two videos with 1.6M+ and 3.9M+ views clearly show that you can make a lot of money in this niche — especially if you start uploading more consistently than our competition does.

How to find topics?
When you’re looking for topics in this niche, the key is to stick with what actually works and that’s kids pulling off big crimes, especially when there’s a large amount of money involved. That means you can do your research in a really focused way. To make it easier for you, I’ve already done a lot of that work.
Extra tip: I’d suggest using ChatGPT to help you come up with topic ideas. It can give you a bunch of names and cases you can then Google to see if there’s enough material to build a story around. I asked ChatGPT for a big list over 50 examples of kids involved in serious crimes and below, I’ll show you just a small sample of it came up with:

Important: Before you pick a topic, it's important to first check if there’s enough content available — because as I mentioned in the video analysis, this is absolutely essential in this niche.
Make sure to search platforms like Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). A lot of content from our competitor’s channel, for example, comes directly from sources like this post:

To come up with my own topic in this niche, I started by researching the list of names ChatGPT gave me. That’s when I came across the case of Ellis Pinsky and right away, I noticed there was real footage of him, plus full Twitter threads people had written about his story. See links down below.

How to create your thumbnail?
First, I started searching for an image of a luxury item of this case, and then I found this image on Google:

Photoshop
Then I continued in Photoshop and added some dark shadow to make the Ferrari stand out even more. I also created a black bar over his eyes to immediately make it clear that he committed a crime. I added the arrow as well to further draw attention to the boy in the car, which raises even more questions.

Eventually I added the text: HE BLEW EVERYTHING because as we know from the comments is that exactly what triggers this audience. People see these kids as masterminds, but at the same time not that smart because they often make impulsive decisions, that’s what most of the comments are about.

AUDIENCE ANALYSIS
What does the audience like?
Real footage
I’ve seen a lot of comments pointing this out on the competitor’s channel. Of course, real footage is important in almost any niche, but in this case, the audience clearly values it so much that I have to mention it. So, if you’re planning to create content in this niche, using real footage isn’t just a nice bonus: it’s a must.
Kids who commit major crimes
The biggest trigger for this audience is seeing kids commit massive crimes. Think about this: stealing thousands or even millions of euros, major hacking schemes, crimes so big you’d assume there was some criminal mastermind behind it… only to find out it was actually just a kid.
